Alltech FEI WEG U.S. Endurance Team Announced

The U.S. Equestrian Federation has announced the members of the U.S. endurance team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The list is as follows, in alphabetical order:

The event sponsored by South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB) boasted a first prize of £1,000. The winner of the Marathon Challenge Trophy, together with the £1,000, was Alan Brown from Shropshire with his Arab horse, Bakst, bred by Finn Guinness of the Biddesden Stud. Two French Riders Topped the Meydan Open Riders World Ranking for FEI

Two French riders topped the Meydan Open Riders World Ranking for FEI year end results. Virginie Atger, who was ranked fifth in the world last year, topped the list in 2010 by just 14 points over fellow Frenchwoman Sarah Chakil. In 2010 Atger won a number of rides, including the CEI*** 160-km Sommant and 160-km Rambouillet in France. She also finished 10th in the World Endurance Championship in Lexington, Kentucky.

US long list released for endurance world champs

A Kutt Above and Jeremy Reynolds have been named to the US team's Long List for the 2012 FEI World Endurance Championships later this year, after victory in the recent 160km contest at the Priefert Ranch in Mt Pleasant, Texas.

In a close race to the finish Reynolds guided A Kutt Above to the win in 8:16:03, narrowly beating out Wendy MacCoubrey and Reach for the Gold (8:16:05) and Becky Hart riding No Repeat (8:16:09).

Maria Hagman Eriksso on Prylens Pepton won the 2nd leg of Onsala Arabians Endurance Cup in Björkvik. After two rides she is in tied lead with Tonja Danielsson/Molina Nikow. Worth noticing is that Prylens Pepton is in the list under two different riders!

Coach Emile Docquier has selected Marijke Visser and Eomer for the Endurance World Championship for Juniors and Young Riders in the French Ibos Tarbes. The twenty strongest youth rider Netherlands currently has, with its mold Eomer much international experience in endurance. The host nation of Kazakhstan captured all the medals at the 2011 FEI Central Asian Endurance Championship staged in Talgar earlier this month. Altyngali Bissemaganbetov claimed gold, while Amangeldy Munaitbayev took silver and Kairzhan Andybay clinched the bronze. Just six of the 16 starters completed the 80kms course, and the only non-Kazakh in the final line-up was the sole competitor from Turkmenistan, sixth-placed Oleg Karabayev.

Britain's WEG endurance team of Ros Clapp, Christine Yeoman, David Yeoman (all from Somerset) and Beccy Broughton-Booker had mixed fortunes in the States. After the first four loops, Ros was the fastest of the team riders, with Christine and David not far behind and a medal was on the cards.
