UK emerges largest exhibitor with a 50-strong group at Al Fares Dubai 2004

The United Kingdom has emerged as the largest group participating in Al Fares Dubai 2004, the fifth international equine trade fair, thereby endorsing Dubai's position as one of the leading centres for equestrian activities.

The Nottinghamshire-based Creature Comforts is one of the several repeat exhibitors in Al Fares Dubai 2004, to be held from December 6-8, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC).

Baltonsborough rider Ros Clapp has been selected for the Great Britain endurance team for the World Equestrain Games which start this weekend in Kentucky. The 16-day event, which starts on Saturday, will see Clapp and her horse Nazeeka competing in the long distance horse riding event which starts on Sunday.

The host nation of Kazakhstan captured all the medals at the 2011 FEI Central Asian Endurance Championship staged in Talgar earlier this month. Altyngali Bissemaganbetov claimed gold, while Amangeldy Munaitbayev took silver and Kairzhan Andybay clinched the bronze. Britain`s medal hope comes a cropper at vet gate

Britain's WEG endurance team of Ros Clapp, Christine Yeoman, David Yeoman (all from Somerset) and Beccy Broughton-Booker had mixed fortunes in the States. After the first four loops, Ros was the fastest of the team riders, with Christine and David not far behind and a medal was on the cards.

But after the fifth loop, Ros's horse Nazeeka was eliminated at the vet gate for irregular metabolics, which ended any medal hopes.

Marijke Visser to start World Endurance Championship

Coach Emile Docquier has selected Marijke Visser and Eomer for the Endurance World Championship for Juniors and Young Riders in the French Ibos Tarbes. The twenty strongest youth rider Netherlands currently has, with its mold Eomer much international experience in endurance. A Kutt Above and Jeremy Reynolds have been named to the US team's Long List for the 2012 FEI World Endurance Championships later this year, after victory in the recent 160km contest at the Priefert Ranch in Mt Pleasant, Texas.

In a close race to the finish Reynolds guided A Kutt Above to the win in 8:16:03, narrowly beating out Wendy MacCoubrey and Reach for the Gold (8:16:05) and Becky Hart riding No Repeat (8:16:09).
