British Reining Spring Show
Considering the number of shows offering reining classes and the economic situation,the BR spring show was a resounding success with forty five horses showing. There were some large classes in green as grass, rookie and pro but with very few non pro riders with only one entry in the non pro class.Competitors were arriving throughout Friday and the weather was good with some periods of warm sunshine. Saturday and Sunday kept threatening rain,however ther was only one small shower the whole weekend.
Showing started Saturday morning with 10 entries in green as grass and 22 entries in the rookie classes.Victoria Boreland and Ses Smart Star won the green as grass with 67.5.Henrietta Campbell and Ses Chic Olena won BR rookie with 69 and was joint first in rookie level 2 with Jessica Moore and Peppys April Anson both scoring 69.
The first of the non pro classes was the nrha limited with Emily Scott and Enterprizing footwork scoring 69.5 to take this class Lita Pocock and Santa Cruz Whiz winning the BR with 68. The nrha intermediate was won by Emily Scott with a 71.5 and the BR by Amanda Moore and Peppys April Anson with a score of 69.Only one entry in the non pro Emily Scott scoring 70.5
The limited open classes attracted 17 entries with Lee Rutter taking the nrha riding Old Vaquero scoring 71.5. The BR was won by Andrew Plant and Trouble by Frosty with 69.5 Lee Rutter and Santa Cruz Whiz took both the intermediate classes with a 69. The nrha open was won by Lee Rutter with a 68.5 on Custom Remedy and the BR by Alan Payne riding Docs Smoking Apache to a 70.5.
Saturday night was party time with a disco and licensed bar ensuring a good evening.Not forgetting also celebrating David Deptfords birthday.
Show 2 on Sunday was supported by even more competitors than the previous day. The show started with green as grass won by Sarah Nock and Skeet N Quick with 68.5. The nrha rookies was taken by Jessica Moore and Peppys April Anson with 68.5 and the BR by Victoria Boreland with a 68. Jessica Moore also won the youth classes with a 69.
The novelty class had three young competitors riding and three puffing and panting assistants. Honours went to Poppy James and Hendre Mars.
In the limited non pro classes Emily Scott won the nrha with a joint show high score of 72.5 Lita Pocock took the BR with 70 The nrha intermediate was won by Emily Scott with 69.5 and the BR by Amanda Moore with 68.5
The show concluded with the open classes with Lee Rutter taking the limited classes with 72.Erwin van looy and Starlights Smoke won the nrha intermediate scoring 69.5 and Sarah Deptford and chex out this action the BR with a 70. The last class of the show the nrha and BR open was won by Lee Rutter and Old Vaquero with a joint show high score of 72.5.
