In the early 1980s Diane went to study with Nuno Oliveira at his training establishment at Avessada, in Portugal.
For over 3 years Diane had regular tuition from Mr Oliveira, on both novice and advanced horses, gaining an unique insight into the ideas and philosophy behind the methods he used.
Moreover, Diane had the opportunity of observing him schooling his own horses for many hours each day. This allowed her to extensively study the techniques Mestre Oliveira so subtly applied.
Diane has ridden 'Grand Prix' and 'High School' movements, is conversant with competition and judging. She now dedicates herself full time to teaching classical dressage, and writing articles for many publications including HORSE, Horse and Hound and Total Horse.
