KWPN designated Quintin VDL highest score ONNK-selection contest
In the second selection round of the Open Dutch Championship North freejumping (ONNK) in Harich the KWPN designated Quintin VDL (v. Quaprice) the highest score. The stallion VDL Stud received from judges Jannes Klock and Teus van den Brink a score of 54.5 points along. In the four years and older jumpers gave the highest score to a four-year old son of Arezzo VDL.The ONNK consists of three selection rounds and a final. Last Saturday was the first selection in Tolbert and place on March 24 in Bronneger the last selection contest. A week later the final of the ONNK in Bronneger.
Quintin VDL jumped yesterday convincingly to the highest score. For his gallop, technique and bascule hind he received an eight. Jannes Klock and Teus van den Brink.
Second place in the three year olds went to Forever Strong (v. Zirocco Blue VDL). The blood, chestnut mare was 52.5 points, including eight for technique of hind and eight for reflexes. The three year old mare Forza (v. Flipper d'Elle) earned the third score in the three year olds. She got 52.0 points and received an eight technique for the hindquarters and the bascule. Both Forever Strong as Forza are bred and owned by family Van der Waaij from Eemnes.
The Arezzo-son for four years and older jumpers got the highest score, got 53.5 points assigned. The grandson of Cantus received a 8.5 for the technique of the foreleg and eight for the reflexes. The second score was shared by two descendants of Zapatero VDL. Doutzen Minka (pl. Cantos) gained 51.0 points, including eight for reflexes. Doniki H (pl. Ahorn) also received the same score with an eight for reflexes.
Besides a free jumping is also a competition for the ONNK freely. Participation in both the three-year term as the older and dressage horses was significantly lower than in the jumpers.
