Geoff Glazzard wins British Horsemaster class at Royal Windsor Horse Show

Geoff Glazzard wins the Land Rover British Horsemaster class at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, his impressive zero score also qualified him to take home his first ever car prize, a Rover 100. Geoff Glazzards achievement of riding four clear rounds on four different horses, three of which he had never sat on before, was emphasised when none of his rivals, Tim Stockdale, James Fisher and Marie Edgar, could establish a rapport with his own mount, Sulcum Dillonald.

This stallion was more intent on returning to the exit than obliging three strange riders, and after a smooth clear round for his master, Geoff Glazzard, amassed 20 faults for Stockdale, 22 for Fisher and 18.75 for Marie Edgar. Second place went to Tim Stockdale, whose Toggi Santas Echo went clear for all but Marie Edgar, as did James Fishers mare Rose Princess.

Geoff Glazzard rode all four horses as though they were his own, instinctively applying the right signals. Tim Stockdale, first of the others to ride the awkward Sulcum Dillonald, said: "He soon realised Geoff wasnt on board." Glazzard was completing a double, having taken the "classic" earlier equally decisively, on his other stallion, Hello Oscar. Geoff Glazzard and Hello Oscar were third in the evenings feature event, the Lancaster Landmark Grand Prix, won by Michael Whitakers Midnight Madness with a clear round in 38.69 seconds. >
