Dun Horses
GBH Driftwood Belle`s Foal - Gold Dun Champagne Colt - AQHA / This colt, born 4/11/07, is by a gold dun champagne son of PHBA World Champion Halter stallion My Skip Vanzi (AQHA Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter, World Champion Sire), who is by My Skip Ashwood (2x AQHA Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter, ROM Performance). The colt`s sire is out of a halter point earning daughter of AQHA High Point Halter Horse Skip My Cool (Superior Halter with 139.5 Points) who is also by My Skip Vanzi and out of Superior Halter mare Melody Beauty (86 Halter Points), a daughter of Top Ten World Show/Superior Halter stallion Beaus My Daddy (139 Halter Points) and out of a Superior Halter mare Dee Dee Melody (65 Halter and 48 Performance Points). Also on his sire`s papers is Real Luck (60 Halter and 14 Performance Points) who is by AQHA Champion Beatle Luck (Superior Halter with 303 Points, and ROM Performance with 48.5 Points). The colt`s dam is a big solid-built buttermilk buckskin mare who always gets noticed in the pasture. She is a great-granddaughter of Top Ten World Show/Superior Reining/AQHA High Point Performance Horse Snippys Cowboy (22 Halter and 203 Performance Points, and sire of World Champion Offspring) who is a grandson of AQHA Hall of Fame/AQHA Champion Two Eyed Jack (#1 All-Time Leading Sire of AQHA Champions, and sire of the very first AQHA World Show Superhorse in 1978). Also just off her papers is Quick M Silver (Speed Index = 95, with 18 wins and $23,100 race earnings) among other halter horses and performers.
This is a big, gorgeous, heavy muscled colt, who appears to have gotten his sire`s rare and stunning color - carrying not only the champagne gene, but also the dun gene. If so, he should produce around 75% diluted foals, even by non-dilute mares, if used as a breeding stallion someday. He should mature to around 15.1 - 15.2 hh and should make an excellent Halter, Longeline, or Performance/All-Around prospect, or a fancy yet capable ranch, rope horse, or flashy trail mount someday.
JJ Sue Ashwood`s 2007 Foal - 2007 Champagne Colt - AQHA - This colt, born 5/23/07, is by a deep golden palomino Skipper W bred stallion. In addition to his heavy Weiscamp breeding, his sire also is a great-grandson of Reserve World Champion/Superior Halter stallion Coosa (HYPP N/N, and sire of World Champion, Reserve World Champion, and Superior Halter and Performance Offspring).
The colt`s dam is by a gold dun champagne son of the well-known champagne Halter stallion My Skip Ashwood (2x AQHA Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter, ROM Performance, and sire of My Skip Vanzi - PHBA World Champion, AQHA Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter). Her sire is also a grandson of the great working cowhorse Bull Parker (AQHA High Point Performance Horse, AQHA Champion, ROM Performance, and sire of World and Reserve World Champion Offspring). Also on her sire`s papers are racing stallions Skippa String (Speed Index = 95, with 9 wins) and Vandy II (Speed Index = 95) as well as Superior Halter/Honor Roll mare Pretty Pam. The colt`s dam is also a granddaughter of AQHA Champion/ROM Performance stallion Tuff Order, who has sired Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter and Performance, AQHA High Point and AQHA Champion Offspring.
This colt looks to be most likely a gold cream champagne (carrying both champagne and cream dilutions) and if so, he should be a 75% color producer even by non-dilute mares someday. He should mature to around 15.0 - 15.1 hh and should make an excellent Halter, Performance, or All-Around prospect someday.
Deposit and contract will hold him until weaning in September.
Shesa Roan Bar Dun`s Foal - Champagne Dun Colt - AQHA - This colt, born 5/28/07, is by a gold dun champagne son of PHBA World Champion Halter stallion My Skip Vanzi (AQHA Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter, World Champion Sire), who is by My Skip Ashwood (2x AQHA Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter, ROM Performance).
The colt`s dam is a pretty dun foundation-bred mare. Her four generation pedigree includes multiple lines to Fancy Roan Bar (Sire of ROM Performance Offspring), Superior Halter/AQHA Champion Producer Roan Bar (5 Halter Points) and Fancy Baker 2 (12 Halter Points). You will also find Race Money Earners Go Man Twist and Whitcomb`s Lady Hank, and others such as Forespot Bar (18 Halter and 45 Performance Points), AQHA Champion/ROM Performance stallion Joe Hank (29 Halter and 14 Performance Points), Jim Hank (18 Halter Points), and Tom Baker (9 Halter Points).
His color is as rare as it is beautiful, carrying both champagne and dun dilutions. He should produce at least 75% dilute foals someday, even when bred to non-dilute mares. In fact, there is a possibility he could be homozygous for the dun gene, since both his dam and sire carry dun - in which case he would produce 100% duns, about half of them also carrying champagne like he does. He already has great muscling, and should mature to around 15.0 - 15.1 hh. He should make an excellent Halter, Longeline, or Performance/All-Around prospect, or a gorgeous yet capable ranch, working cowhorse, or flashy trail mount someday.

This lucky colt looks like he may have gotten his sire`s rare and beautiful color - carrying not only the champagne gene, but also the dun gene. If so, he would produce around 75% diluted foals, even by non-dilute mares, if used as a breeding stallion. Even if he doesn`t carry dun, he is still a unique colored gold champagne at a minimum. He looks on track to mature to around 15.0 - 15.1 hh and should make an excellent Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, or other performance prospect someday, but could also be fun to show at Halter/Longeline in the meantime. Whether you are looking for a rare colored stud prospect, or just a flashy show gelding, he could go a number of different directions successfully with his strong and diverse bloodlines.
He is halter broke, stands for farrier, and is ready to go now.

The popular Champagne color is highly sought after for Futurity Winning generations. Gold is the result of one or two champagne genes acting upon an otherwise red (sorrel or chestnut) horse. This can have several different results, depending upon which other genes are present, but typically creates a golden body color with a flaxen, or near-white, mane and tail. This horse is usually registered as a Palomino, even though the skin is some shade of pink with freckles, not the normal dark skin of the Palomino. The term "mottled", under skin color, may allow for this in the PHBA registry (Palomino Horse Breeders of America).
