Danielle Jolliffe riding Explosief Van De Heffinck win EquestrianClearance.com Newcomers Masters

The Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival was host to the EquestrianCleance.com Newcomers Masters on Monday, with the last chance to qualify the 2011 EquestrianClearance.com Newcomers Championship to be held at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) in October.

Twenty four year old Danielle Jolliffe, from Manchester rode her own seven year old stallion Explosief Van De Heffinck completing the jump off clear in a time of 33.79 seconds put her into first place. Having already qualified for HOYS the first qualifying ticket went to second placed Nigel Coupe. Nigel also jumped a double clear in a jump off time of 36.36 seconds on Susan Simmons eight year old bay gelding Golvers Hill.

Third place and the second HOYS ticket was taken by Harriet Nuttall from Somerset riding her father Rupert's seven year old chestnut gelding A Touch Imperious. This combination jumped clear in the jump off in a time of 37.17 seconds.

The four to qualify for Horse of the Year Show were Danielle Joliffe riding her own Explosief Van De Heffinck, Harriet Nuttall riding Rupert Nuttall's A Touch Imperious, Daniel Baker riding Sheila Harris' Frits II and Alex Barr riding William Stewart's Sonas Dearg.
