Ashfields Carriage and Polo Club, Carriage Driving Centre
Mr Terry Chambers bought Ashfields in the spring of 2003 with the aim of fulfilling a dream of creating the ideal stable yard for carriage driving plus a carriage museum and has now transformed it into Ashfields Carriage and Polo Club as a state of the art equestrian yard, with 3 blocks of stables set out in the American barn style.Set in 500 acres of beautiful Essex country- side with 80 acres of post and rail fenced grass paddocks, Ashfields offers a wide range of equestrian facilities, events and a fully catered, licensed function suite.
45m x 45m indoor school.
In the early sixties Ashfields was a dairy farm holding 400 head of cattle. It had a large farm house and a few farm cottages which have now been sold off separately.
Ashfields` previous owners then bought it and turned it into an equestrian yard and polo club, converting many of the barns into stables
This was when Terry Chambers bought Ashfields, the barns were beyond repair and planning permission was applied for and granted which was the start of the long job of converting them into modern stables.
But the work is still continuing. In Summer 2008 our new indoor school will be completed offering yet more facilities for Ashfields` clients.
